Speaking to Children

Here is an interview and write up in the Wall Street Journal on how to speak to children and how modeling is more important than coaxing a child to say “thank you.” I am guilty of many of these things. We all want children in our care to meet our expectations but we must understand what they are capable of doing and understanding.  I don’t know how much I agree with all that is said in the article because I do believe we have to teach children manners but it is something to think about when we correct our children in front of others.

Take a few minutes and read the article and watch the video and let me know your thoughts on the subject.
